As we bid goodbye to another fantastic year, I couldn't let the opportunity pass without sending a massive shout-out to the heroes in our division who keep our university spinning with smiles and efficiency. So here it goes: From my heart, Thank You to each division that adds its unique flavour to the awesome mix that is our university life.

Kudos to the residential services, the champions of the home-away-from-home vibes. Thanks for ensuring that our residences are safe and clean havens of comfort.

To our staff at the Botanical Garden, thank you for making every season special. Your green thumbs turn our Botanical Garden into a huge asset for both the university and the town and your incredible conservation work makes a remarkable impact on the future of many plant species. 

The teams of Technology Transfer and our Spinout Companies:You are wizards of innovation and magic-makers of entrepreneurship and incubation, thank you for helping our researchers and students to turn brilliant ideas into reality. Your hard work ultimately makes our world a better place with better healthcare tools, greener energy, more resilient plant varieties, efficient satellites, better and useful proteins, safer beaches, and improved sustainability.

Hats off to Copyright, Trademarks, and Short Courses – you are the guardians of SU's intellectual property. Your expertise ensures our university's copyright and trademark assets stay protected and that our university's short courses are well-managed and delivered to a broad audience under the SU flag. 

Well done to our vibrant letting office team who makes the Neelsie the best student mall in this country. You brought a great vibe and tenant mix to the heart of our campus and contributed to our students' experience of Stellenbosch this year.

To our team of Copy and Print Services, a big thank you to you, the wizards making sure our documents and articles were printed this year and that our copy and print devices were well maintained, working smoothly, and always ready.

A round of applause for the transport team who ensured we got from point A to point B (and maybe even a pit stop at the Neelsie) without a hitch and that we could park safely across all our campuses in 2023.

Thanks to our Food and Compliance team for ensuring a smooth-running catering service. Here's to delicious meals and compliance and friendly faces in all our kitchens.

In this whirlwind of divisions, each of you brings something unique to the table, making our university a vibrant and dynamic community. Thank you for your hard work, your dedication, and your collective commitment to making our university experience extraordinary. Wishing each of you a well-deserved break, filled with laughter, relaxation, and maybe a sprinkle of extra magic.
