Ad-hoc travel grant

Target Group: Academic staff members from all faculties

Grant value: SU International offers travel bursary to the amount of R17 500 while the host institution will provide accommodation for the period of the exchange. It allows for a maximum stay of 3 months and minimum of 7 days.

Stellenbosch University currently participates in three Intra-ACP mobility projects:

  • TRECCAfrica, the Transdisciplinary Training for Resource Efficiency and Climate Change, which is coordinated by Stellenbosch University,  
  • The AFIMEGQ consortium  -  “Africa for Innovation and Mobility, Exchange, Global, Quality" , which is coordinated by the University of Yaoundè I in Cameroon,
  • And “Sharing Capacity to Build Capacity for Quality Graduate Training in Agriculture in African Universities" which is coordinated by Makerere University in Uganda.

 

TRECCAFRICA II study and mobility opportunities

TRECCAFRICA II invites applications from African nationals to participate in a master's exchange mobility, master's full-time studies, doctoral exchange mobility or staff mobility. The TRECCAFRICA academic programmes range across disciplines such as sustainable development, environmental management, renewable energy, food science and technology natural resource assessment, climate and society, biotechnology, agro-ecology, soil physics, microbiology and veterinary medicine.

The mobility must be undertaken at one of the following TRECCAFRICA partner universities: University of Botswana, University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), University of Ghana, Mekelle University (Ethiopia), University of Nairobi (Kenya) and Stellenbosch University (South Africa).
