Stellenbosch University (SU) is a top destination for students beyond South Africa's borders. Its reputation as a world-class institution attracts students from every corner of the African continent.
Currently, 58% of international students at SU come from 42 other African countries. Of the more than 2 500 students from these countries, the five largest groups are from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Zambia and Lesotho.
Students can choose from a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, coupled with outstanding facilities for teaching, learning and research, across 10 faculties: AgriSciences, Arts and Social Sciences, Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine and Health Sciences, Military Science, Science, and Theology.
Though travelling across Africa to study in a new country is a thrilling experience, it comes with a unique set of needs for international students. To cater to this, the SU International office is there every step of the way to help make students' transition into their new environment as trouble-free as possible. Services include supporting students with immigration, health cover, finances and accommodation, as well as integrating them to life on campus through orientation programmes, special events and excursions.
Stellenbosch University is proudly rooted in Africa and global in reach – we look forward to welcoming you on our campus.
