Centre for Applied Ethics

The Centre for Applied Ethics in the Department of Philosophy delivers impactful and innovative research and teaching on ethical challenges in medicine, business, the environment, government and civil society. Apart from offering a Postgraduate Diploma, MPhil and PhD in Applied Ethics, we also offer accredited Continued Professional Development programmes, provide consulting services to professionals working in policy formulation and legislation, and organise seminars, annual lectures and conferences in the field of applied ethics.

The Centre for Applied Ethics consists of five research units: the Unit for Bioethics, the Unit for Environmental Ethics, the Unit for Business Ethics and Public Integrity, the Unit for Social and Political Ethics (PROSPER), and the Unit for the Ethics of Technology.
