Winter School: Analytical Techniques for Biomedical Sciences

(16 – 18 July 2024)

Central Analytical Facilities' (CAF) Microscopy and Flow Cytometry Unit, Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI), Tygerberg Campus, Stellenbosch University, Tygerberg.

Stellenbosch University's (SU) Central Analytical Facilities' (CAF) Microscopy Unit and Flow Cytometry Unit are thrilled to offer the Winter School: "Analytical Tools for Biomedical Sciences" as part of an initiative driven by the SU Division for Research Development. The program is designed specifically for students and postgraduates in Physiology, Molecular Biology and Pharmacology. This immersive winter school aims to equip participants with advanced biomedical imaging techniques and flow cytometry. As biomedical technology rapidly evolves both in South Africa and globally, this program offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment, enhancing skills crucial for advancing healthcare and research outcomes. This workshop will additionally showcase how various advanced techniques can complement each other.

Over an intensive three-day period, participants will engage in interactive lectures, practical workshops, training and collaborative projects. The program is dedicated to fostering inclusivity, providing financial assistance to students from Historically Disadvantaged Institutions (HDIs). Join us at SU for a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise, gain practical experience, and be part of the future of biomedical research and innovation.

We are delighted to announce that while in-person attendance for the event is now full, we are excited to extend the opportunity for South African and International postgraduate students specializing in Physiology, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacology, with a keen interest in biomedical research, to participate in the event through online live streaming. We encourage eligible students to apply for online attendance and be part of this exceptional event.
