​About the Tygerberg Doctoral Office

This office is responsible for Masters by Research (100%) Examination processes, FMHS Pre-Doctoral, PhD studies and Postdoctoral matters.

Mission:

  1. To increase the number of students registered for, and graduating with doctoral degrees in the FMHS.
  2. To provide administrative and academic support and activities aimed at facilitating successful doctoral studies.
  3. This office is responsible for Masters by Research (100%) Examination processes, FMHS Pre-Doctoral, PhD studies and Postdoctoral matters
  4. To provide support for the FMHS Pre-Doctoral Programmes
  5. To serve as point of first contact for postdoctoral fellows at FMHS ​

All students who are registered for a Research Master’s Degree (100% Research) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences will be attended to by the Doctoral Office for examination purposes only

The Doctoral Office hosts the Pre-Doctoral Short Course that is offered under the guidance of the Department of Global Health. This two-week block course is offered to a limited number of prospective doctoral students.Read more ›​​​​

Postdoc​toral Fellowship

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Fellowships within five years of completion of a doctoral degree.
