About ​Us

Welcome to the Division of Clinical Anatomy at Stellenbosch University. Our division is dedicated to advancing the field of anatomical sciences through exceptional teaching, innovative research, and active community engagement. We strive to be at the forefront of research and technological advancements in teaching, while also being socially responsive to promote excellence in the field of anatomy. 

Our state-of-the-art facilities support both educational and research endeavors. These include advanced microscopy laboratories, cutting-edge dissection halls, and a specialized histology laboratory. We also maintain the Stellenbosch Bone Repository for educational and research purposes. Additionally, the Victim Identification Service at Stellenbosch University (ViSUN) collaborates with the South African Police Services (SAPS) and the Western Cape Forensic Pathology Services (WCPS) to support the identification of unidentified human remains. 

Our mission is to foster an open and inclusive environment that supports exceptional teaching, innovative research, and community engagement.
