The division consists of the following focussed offices:


Dr Tania Brodovcky manages the Research Capacity Development and Funding Office. This function supports and develops activities around research capacity development of staff and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and disseminates health research funding opportunities. Ms Charmaine Khumalo manages the Health Research Ethics Office. The purpose of this office is to support Stellenbosch University researchers towards compliance in the protection of human participant safety, rights, and welfare in health research.

Mr Eugene Baugaard manages the Research Grants Management Office. This office serves as an interface among investigators, Faculty administration, and funding agencies or external sponsors, providing assistance in identification of funding, proposal submission, and financial award management.    Read more ›

​Dr Liela Groenewald manages the Tygerberg Doctoral Office. This office is responsible for the strategic and logistical components of the doctoral programme, from recruitment to graduation. The office also oversees Masters by Thesis examinations, and provides a faculty-based referral point for postdoctoral fellows.

Dr Emmanuel Obasa manages the Registrar Research Support Office. This office provides support for registrars in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences who are undertaking research as part of specialist (MMed) and sub-specialist (MPhil) qualifications.  ​
