Nietegniese vaardighede, soos etiek, burgerskap, kritiese denkvermoë, kommunikasie en spanwerk, kan as graduandi-eienskappe beskou word en die ontwikkeling daarvan behoort by die kern- tegniese modules van ʼn akademiese program geïntegreer te wees (Barrie, 2007; Miller en Willows, 2023; Terblanche en De Clercq, 2021). Die seminaar sal fokus op ʼn gevallestudie by die Skool vir Rekeningkunde, waar programvernuwing onderneem is om die ontwikkeling van die GR2021 graduandi-eienskappe in die akademiese program vas te lê. Verskeie innovasies sal bespreek word, waaronder ʼn kritiese denke-blok in die eerste jaar, ʼn werksessie oor relasionele en besluitnemingsvernuf, die ontwikkeling van burgerskapswaardes deur die opskerp van vaardighede in maatskaplike innovasie, die aanwending van gemengde aktiewe leer, en ʼn studenteportefeulje met bewyse van die graduandi-eienskappe om refleksie te fasiliteer. Die gevallestudie lewer bewys van hoe graduandi-eienskappe in die kern- tegniese modules van ʼn akademiese program vasgelê kan word, en kan vir opvoeders op ander vakgebiede van nut wees.</span> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p><strong class="ms-rteForeColor-1" style="font-size:14pt;">Biografie van spreker</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:14pt;">Gretha is ʼn medeprofessor en die adjunk-direkteur vir Sosiale Impak en Transformasie by die Skool vir Rekeningkunde. Sy is ʼn US Onderriggenoot en die projekleier vir die implementering van die GR2021-bevoegdheidsraamwerk, wat deur die Suid-Afrikaanse Instituut van Geoktrooieerde Rekenmeesters (SAICA) uitgereik is, by die Skool vir Rekeningkunde. Dít verg dat professionele programme in die gesondheidswetenskappe studente help om vaardighede te verwerf en kenmerke te ontwikkel wat verder as kliniese bekwaamheid strek. Die reeds oorlaaide kurrikulum en die uitwerking daarvan op studente- en personeelwelwees stel tans die geslaagdheid van ons fisioterapieprogram ernstig in gevaar. Probleemgebaseerde leer gee studente egter die geleentheid om tegelykertyd kritiese vaardighede – samewerking, kommunikasie, leierskap, kampvegting en akademieskap (Yew & Goh, 2016) – te ontwikkel én fisioterapie te leer en kliniese vaardighede te ontwikkel. Deur werklikheidsgetroue probleme in die klaskamer te hanteer, skep ons daardie bepalende momente vir transformasie (Mezirow, 2018). As dit nadenkend ontwerp en op die heel eerste dag van die eerste jaar ingestel word, kan dit kwessies soos fragmentering, kompartementalisering en die oordragparadoks wat hiërargiese modulêre kurrikulums kenmerk, aanspreek (Frerejean et al., 2022).</span></p><p style="color:#000000;font-size:medium;text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family:raleway;">In hierdie seminaar deel ek met u ons reis, die hoe en die hoekom daarvan, en die uitdagings in ons pogings om bekwame fisioterapeute én kritiese burgers te ontwikkel.​<br></span></p><p style="color:#000000;font-size:medium;text-align:justify;"><br style="font-family:raleway;"></p><p style="color:#000000;font-size:medium;"></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteForeColor-1" style="font-family:raleway;font-size:18px;"><strong>Biografie van spreker</strong></span></p><p style="color:#000000;font-size:medium;text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family:raleway;">Prof. Marianne Unger is ’n begeesterde dosent in fisioterapie met 27 jaar ondervinding agter die rug, onder meer as voorsitter van verskeie komitees, wat voorgraadseprogram- en navorsingsetiekkomitees insluit. Sy het ’n PhD in Pediatriese Neurologie, en haar spesialisbelangstelling is om bewegingstrategieë beter te verstaan met die oog op verbeterde intervensies by kinders met serebrale verlamming. P:rof. Unger se besorgdheid oor toekomstige fisioterapiepraktyk en -opvoeding het haar aangespoor om haar O&L-opleiding uit te brei, en sy het onlangs ’n US-onderriggenootskap voltooi. In reaksie op verskeie uitdagings wat as gevolg van groot klasse ontstaan, het professor Michael le Cordeur, Visedekaan (Onderrig en Leer), versoek dat kollegas van die Sentrum vir Onderrig en Leer (SOL) 'n werksessie vir personeel aanbied oor strategieë wat nuttig sal wees in die hantering van groot klasse. Hierdie werksessie het op 2 June plaasgevind. Die Dekaan van die Fakulteit Opvoedkunde, professor Mbulungeni Madiba, het deelnemers aan die werksessie verwelkom deur hulle te herinner aan die belangrikheid daarvan om 'n voortdurend veranderende hoëronderwyslandskap te omhels. Eweknie-fasiliteerders is in 'n ideale posisie om terugvoer aan dosente te verskaf oor onderwerpe wat konsolidasie benodig. Dosente word aangemoedig om potensiële eweknie-fasiliteerders te kry om vir die kortkursus in te skryf.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong class="ms-rteFontFace-8 ms-rteForeColor-1" style="font-size:17px;">Assessering van groot klasse</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;">Die laaste deel van die werksessie het op assessering gefokus, wat veral 'n relevante onderwerp is in die lig daarvan dat dit een van die instelling se spelwisselaars is. Daar is ongelukkig geen wondermiddel wat alle assesseringsuitdagings sal oplos nie. Terwyl formatiewe assesserings dikwels uitgebreide nasientyd vereis, het een van die werksessie-bywoners gedeel dat hierdie uitdaging aangespreek kan word deur eers algemene terugvoer aan die klas te verskaf, en dan individuele punte en terugvoer op 'n latere stadium.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;">Terugvoer is slegs sy naam werd as dit deur die student vir die doel van verbetering gebruik kan word. Een van die belangrikste boodskappe in die hersiene </span><a href="http://sunrecords.sun.ac.za/controlled/C4%20Policies%20and%20Regulations/SU%20Assessment%20Policy_FINAL.pdf"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;">SU Assesseringsbeleid</span></a><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;"> is dat assessering en terugvoer in die TLA geïntegreer moet wees; dit is nie iets wat </span><strong class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;"><em>aan </em></strong><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;">studente gedoen word nie, maar eerder </span><strong class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;"><em>met </em></strong><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16px;">studente om hulle leer te verbeter. Nog 'n bywoner het vertel dat dit aangespreek kan word deur groepaanbiedings wat tegelykertyd deur die dosent en die eweknieë gemerk word, waarna konsensus bereik moet word oor die groep se finale punt. Self- en eweknie-assessering kan 'n manier wees om selfs nog punte te genereer. Wanneer dit egter doeltreffend gebruik word, kan hierdie tipes assessering behulpsaam wees om studente die vaardigheid aan te leer om hulle eie werk te assesseer, wat noodsaaklik is vir die lewe ná graduering.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"> </p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-8" style="font-size:16pt;"><span style="font-size:16px;">Die werksessie is bygewoon deur 18 personeellede van die Fakulteit Opvoedkunde en twee verteenwoordigers van die Opvoedkunde Studentekomitee en daar was betekenisvolle betrokkenheid onder mekaar.
