Researcher awarded for advancing systems science

Dr Rika Preiser, Senior Researcher at the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition, recently won an award for a paper she delivered at the International Society for Systems Sciences (ISSS) conference in Oregon, USA. The award, the MDPI Systems Journal Award for the Most Innovative Contribution to ISSS 2018, comprises a certificate, a plaque and a financial component.

In her paper, Dr Preiser defined six key organising principles for a typology of general complex adaptive system features and dynamics. It is currently in press in the journal Ecology and Society, one of the leading journals in the complex adaptive social-ecological systems field.
