Post Graduate Diplomas


The Department of Business Mangement offers two Diploma programmes for students wishing to further their studies, but do not neccesiarily have a background in either Financial Planning or Marketing Management.

Both Diplomas are highly regarded by industry professionals and has proved to be popular among students.


Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning

About

The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning is a specialised programme in financial planning on NQF level 8. Weekly sessions are presented in English at the Bellville Park Campus of the US from the end of January to the end of October. The programme is presented by academics and practitioners in the financial service industry. This is not a distance learning programme and students are expected to attend all sessions.

Module work is assessed by tests and examinations, which may be answered in either Afrikaans or English. All registered students will have access to the Stellenbosch University's Web-based Content Management System (WebStudies) for important notices, slides, etc.

Commencement of the programme is during January for Module 1, April for Module 3, July for Module 2 and September for Module 4. It can be completed within one year or two years.


Accreditaion

The Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning is accredited by the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and promises advancement towards the coveted Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification. The Diploma is also a recognised program partner of the Institute for Chartered Financial Analysts.

Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management

About

The Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing provides graduate students with no prior marketing training with the core knowledge and skills about marketing – from idea conceptualisation to the development and maintenance of marketing plans and programs.

The qualification is thus aimed at people entering the business or professional environment that are suitably qualified in a specific field of knowledge, but lack the marketing background. It provides the opportunity to students to ensure a competitive advantage and to broaden career prospects.
