The Faculty occupies three buildings on the main (Stellenbosch) campus, while the postgraduate programmes of the USB and the School of Public Leadership are offered at the Bellville Park Campus.
Our training for professional registration in specialist fields such as Accounting, Actuarial Science and Financial Planning enjoys national and international accreditation by professional institutes and our students' performance in external examinations is proof of the quality of our programmes. In a similar vein our programmes in Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management are acknowledged by professional bodies. In other disciplines, excellent quality of tuition is ensured by cooperation agreements; these cover matters such as the exchange of students and teaching staff, and joint research projects with internationally recognised academic institutions.
For the past years, the Faculty has been strengthening and diversifying its postgraduate platform. The latest development is the establishment in 2014 of a postgraduate school in Economic and Management Sciences. The school offers researchers from Africa and the rest of the world a full-time bursary programme to enable them to complete their doctoral studies in three years.
Most postgraduate students study at the School of Public Leadership and the USB, while the Africa Centre for HIV/Aids Management boasts an annual intake of almost 300 students. The USB is one of the few management schools outside of Europe that are accredited by the European Quality Improvement System of the European Foundation for Management Development. The USB's MBA programme has been accredited by the Association of MBAs of the United Kingdom.
The Faculty vigorously pursues research excellence and capacity development. We are therefore very proud of our 26 NRF-rated researchers and the Research Chair in the Economics of Social Policy hosted by the Faculty.
