  • Field of Study: Undergraduate Degrees in fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Information Systems. Specializations in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence are also eligible.
  • Academic Achievement: Current students who are consistently obtaining an average of 65% and above.
  • Education Completion: Candidates should plan to complete Tertiary education (up to Honours level or NQF level 8) by the end of 2026.
  • Availability: Be available to start full-time permanent employment with Amazon in January 2027, contingent upon receiving a job offer after the internship assessment.
  • South African Universities Only: The bursary is open to students from South African Universities.

Target Group

  • Preference will be given to employment equity female candidates who are final-year or postgraduate students
  • Quantitative background: including actuarial science, investment management, economics, statistics, mathematics, accounting, and finance
  • Qualifying criteria: focus will be on recruiting students that show an aptitude for finance, staying power, application and aspirit of volunteerism
  • Assessments will then validate those with high potential to succeed in our industry and support final selection for the programme

Description

In collaboration with the Stellenbosch University International (part of GEP courses- Global Education Programmes), the Department of Modern Foreign Languages offers beginners' evening classes in French, German, Spanish and Chinese. The introduction of Arabic language evening course is also being planned. The courses take place during the semester and are intended for those who have very little or no knowledge of the language.

Description

The DSI and NRF are pleased to announce a call for applications for DSI-NRF Honours Student Funding for the 2025 academic year.

Target Group

  • The NRF minimum academic requirement for postgraduate funding is 65%.
  • The entry age requirement is 28 years or younger for honours studies, in the year of application.
  • Successful applicants will be funded either at Full Cost of Study (FCS) or Partial Cost of Study (PCS). FCS funding will be awarded to applicants who are either financially needy (i.e., those whose combined household family income is less than or equal to R350 000 per annum), living with a disability, or exceptional academic achievers.
  • South African citizens and Permanent Residents who could not be funded under FCS but meet other minimum requirements for the NRF scholarship funding criteria.

Please note the following exclusions:

  • International students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Professional honours degree and
  • Individuals that are on sabbatical leave from their current employment

Deadline:

  • Honours financial meanstest: 1 September 2024
  • Honours General Scholarships: 22 November 2024
  • Honours SARAO Scholarships: 20 August 2024
