The Department of Business Management offers two diploma programmes for students who wish to further their studies but do not necessarily have a background in either Financial Planning or Marketing Management. Both the Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning and the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management are highly regarded by industry professionals and have proven to be popular among students.
Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning
The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning is a specialised programme in financial planning on NQF level 8. Weekly sessions are presented in English at the Bellville Park Campus of SU from the end of January to the end of October. The programme is presented by academics and practitioners in the financial service industry. This is not a distance learning programme and students are expected to attend all sessions.
Module work is assessed by tests and examinations, which may be answered in either Afrikaans or English. All registered students will have access to Stellenbosch University's web-based Content Management System (WebStudies) for important notices, slides, etc.
Commencement of the programme is during January for Module 1, April for Module 3, July for Module 2 and September for Module 4. It may be completed either in one or two years.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning is accredited by the Financial Planning Institute (FPI).
