BCom (International Business)
Are you dreaming of an International career? Are you ambitious, eager to learn and ready for a challenging academic programme with a global approach? Do you want to study internationally?
Then you should concider the BCom-degree in International Business. This baccalaureus programme was created for students who has a thorough backround in South–Africa while wanting to develop experience in international businesses. It is a full time four year programme offered in English.
This programme takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining modules from the Management Sciences and the Social Sciences. It also gives students international exposure through an international exhange semester in the third year. Please note that you may take part in the exchange if you are registered for the full degree (as opposed to being registered for short-term non-degree purposes).
The combination of modules from both Management and Social Sciences corresponding with programme offerings abroad and aligns with the programme of our exchange partners. The BCom (International Business) programme is therefore suitable for students, both for degree and for non-degree purposes.
- Overall National Senior Certificate average of at least 80%, excluding Life Orientation
- Mathematics 70%
- English Home Language 70% or English First Additional Language 80%
- Any additional language 70%
The BCom (International Business) programme is a strict selection programme with set criteria that have to be met in order to proceed from one academic year to the next. If your modules are not up to date at the beginning of your third academic year, you have to change your programme to BCom (Management Sciences). It is not possible to trasfer from another programme to BCom (International Bussines).

This programme gives opportunities for careers in International Businesses as Marketing Manager, Financial Manager, Entrepreneurship or Innovations Manager. Alternatively candidates can also be employed by big, multinational consulting companies.
