Prof Lochner is Co-director of the Medical Research Council (MRC) Unit on Anxiety and Stress Disorders at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Stellenbosch. She is a full time researcher, with clinical, genetics and brain imaging research on obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions such as hair-pulling disorder and skin-picking disorder as a priority. Other areas of interest include the anxiety disorders such as social anxiety disorder and panic disorder. She continues with a part-time private practice to keep in touch with clinical work, particularly in the field of cognitive behavioural therapy for patients with anxiety disorders.

Kim de la Harpe is the Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Child and Family Unit, Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital. She is also a Lecturer and Supervisor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stellenbosch University. Kim has conducted research and published in the area of Intimate Partner Violence in South Africa. Her current interests are in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy, particularly in under-resourced areas in South Africa. She is a member of the following associations and groups: Cape Town Psychoanalytic Self Psychology Group, South African Psychoanalytic Initiative, as well as the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, and regularly attends conferences locally and abroad.

Miss Swarts is a clinical psychologist currently located in the Lentegeur Adolescent Psychosis Recovery Unit and Lentegeur Adolescent Unit at Lentegeur Hospital. Brigitte has worked in primary, secondary and tertiary health care institutions over the last 5 years. Her professional interests include public mental health service provision, community psychology, awareness rising of mental health within communities and the reduction of stigma.
