Paediatric Endocrinology

The Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Unit provides care for children with endocrine  disorders, diabetes and inborn errors of metabolism.  Endocrine conditions include growth, thyroid and adrenal problems, disorders of sexual development, rickets, Prader Willi and Turner syndrome.  Children with hypoglycaemia, hyperlipidaemia and hyperammonaemia are also managed in our unit.  We are striving to provide the families of our patients with the best possible care within the constraints of our system.

The Unit is accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a training unit for the Certificate in Paediatric Endocrinology. ​
