​​​The aim of this course is to engage with the SA constitution and to introduce young leaders to the concepts of democracy, human rights, social justice, and accountability as citizens. The focus will primarily be on the South African context, with a strong focus on the South African and African experience. Themes include; South African History, Democracy, Branches of government & legislation, and Active Citizenship. The theoretical elements of this course are complemented by exposure to these concepts and their manifestations in practice e.g. Parliament visit and visits to relevant NGOs, which will assist and guide application in various contexts.​​​
