Paarl Hospital

Paarl Hospital is a regional hospital with a 369-bed capacity. A regional hospital on a 24-hour basis, provides:

Information & Communications Technology (ICT)

There are laptops and routers available from the SUNLOC office. Each item issued will require a R100 refundable deposit. Damaged, lost or late return of items will result in the forfeiture of the refundable deposit.

There is Wi-Fi available for students at the Paarl Klein Street house as well as at the Paarl Hospital to use for academic purposes.

Printer available for student use – please provide own paper

RULES:

  • No prestik on walls
  • All lights to be switched off when you leave
  • Lock all doors and close all doors upon departure
  • No smoking, eating or drinking in the computer area
  • Keep center neat and tidy at all times
  • No disr​uptive behavior or loud music

Students to report to the Paarl Hospital Reception on Sundays between 16:00 and 17:00 to collect room keys. For queries, please contact Mrs De Jager.

Access Cards

Hospital access cards are also available, advised for students travelling with private cars as this will give you access to parking on the hospital premises.

Access Cards can be collected from the SUNLOC office at R100 refundable deposit per card.

Address and driving directions


Take the N1 to Paarl. Cross the Berg River. Pass the Boschendal Golf Estate (on your right). Take the next exit to your left. Follow the R303 (Jan van Riebeeck). Pass the cemetery (on your right). At the circle turn left into Langenhoven. Cross the Berg river.

At the next circle turn right into Berg River Boulevard North. Cross over Lady Grey Street. Continue in Berg River Boulevard North. Paarl Hospital is on your left, turn left into Hospital Street and proceed to the Paarl Hospital security boom on the right.

  • Fully equipped communal kitchen with all cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils provided
  • 4-plate stove
  • Fridge

TELEVISION:

  • Television in lounge

BEDROOMS:

  • 8 fully furnished bedrooms; own bedding to be provided

BATHROOM:

  • Showers for communal use
  • Please conserve water and electricity at all times as we are in crisis


CLEANING SERVICE AND LAUNDRY:

  • Students are required to keep all communal areas and their bedrooms clean at all times
  • Communal areas will be cleaned by staff 3 days per week
  • Kitchen is to be kept neat and tidy at all times, no pile up of dirty tableware
  • Laundry facilities available. Students to provide own detergents


PAARL HOSPITAL DOCTOR'S QUARTERS

  • All areas are for communal use.

  • 7 fully furnished bedrooms; own bedding to be provided

CLEANING SERVICE:

  • Students are required to keep all communal areas and their bedrooms clean at all times
  • Communal areas will be cleaned by staff once per week according to their schedule
  • Kitchen is to be kept neat and tidy at all times, no pile up of dirty tableware

Inclusions & Exclusions

          The following items are allowed in rooms:

  • Tested hairdryer / hot brush / hair iron
  • Radio or CD player
  • Extension cord, multi-plug
  • Electronic alarm clock/radio
  • TV
  • Ironing Board & Iron
  • Kettle

The following items are prohibited in all rooms:

  • Smoking
  • Pets
  • Overnight guests – family, friends and acquaintances
  • Loud music and disruptive behavior

Safety & Security

  • The house has a fitted alarm system with panic buttons on each remote of room keys
  • Keep cars locked and keep valuables out of view
  • Students are urged to look after keys, locks and remotes as the safety of all students will be jeopardized in the event of a loss
  • Personal valuable items are to be locked away when not in use
  • Close all windows and lock all doors upon exit
  • Emergency doors are only to be used in case of an emergency
  • Report any incidents or complaints immediately to Ms. Nicole Crow on 082 420 4864
