Attended Paarl Gymnasium High School. Pregraduate medical studies at Tygerberg Hospital, Stellenbosch University. Community service and two year medical experience at Windhoek state hospital. Private general practice in Keetmanshoop in Namibia. General practitioner in Bloemfontein. Started as a Registrar in Ophthalmology in October 1985.

1990 Private Ophthalmology Practice Potchefstroom up to retirement in September 2013.

Currently part time sessions as Retinal Medical Specialist at Paarl Provincial Hospital and Tygerberg Eye Clinic.
