Dr Robyn Rautenbach

Dr Robyn Rautenbach is a senior registrar/postgraduate fellow in ophthalmology, who grew up in Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape. She completed her medical degree at the Stellenbosch University and went on to complete her internship at Frere Hospital and community service at Stutterheim Hospital and its district clinics – all in her home province of the Eastern Cape. After a short time as a GP locum, she started as a medical officer in ophthalmology and later as a registrar at the East London Hospital Complex and the Walter Sisulu University before moving to a registrar post at Tygerberg Academic Hospital and Stellenbosch University. She has successfully completed the Diploma in Ophthalmology (CMSA), Fellowship in Ophthalmology (SA) and MMed in Ophthalmology at Stellenbosch University. She has a special interest in medical and surgical conditions of the retina, and this is the subject of her postgraduate clinical fellowship. She also enjoys anterior segment surgery, glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology.
