1. How much does a short course cost and can it be deducted from my student account?

The cost of short courses is R625 for South African and SADC students and R1875 for international students. The cost of the Graduate Programme is R925 and R2775 for international students.
Various payment options are available. The fees can also be debited to your student account.

2. What is the duration of the short course?

The semester-long short courses take place once a week for about 8 – 10 weeks. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all short courses are offered online via SUNOnline with a combination of live sessions via the Microsoft Teams platform.

3. What is the application process?

All applications are administered through the Division of Short Course's application process. Participants complete the application link (provided by the FVZSI team). Once your application is submitted, it is reviewed whereafter the FVZSI team will contact you with all the relevant information including the payment information and the date of commencement of the short course.

4. What is the short course qualification?

The FVZSI short courses are recognised as a registered training opportunity at Stellenbosch University. Upon successful completion, participants will receive recognition on the academic transcript.

5.  Are bursaries available?

There are limited bursaries available and will be allocated on a need basis. Bursaries are also offered by e.g. Residences, Clusters, Academic Affairs Council, SRC, TSR, TPSC, Societies, etc.
