Curriculum vitae and cover letter writing

The Unit for Graduand Career Services has a dedicated team member to help you write and design your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and cover letter. It is important that your CV and cover letter contain up-to-date, high-quality information that will convince and entice any employer to invite you for an interview. Attending these work sessions will assist you to create a compelling CV and cover letter to command the attention of prospective employers.

Interview skills

The Unit provides thorough work sessions on preparing yourself for industry interviews. These sessions will take you through different interview scenarios. Sessions will also prepare you for online interviews and get you ready for interviews conducted on virtual reality platforms, as well as competency interviews, which are designed to test your skill and competency levels.

Personal branding

Recruiters are looking more toward social media platforms to recruit potential employees. It is becoming increasingly important for job seekers to create an attractive online presence. The Unit provides students with work sessions regarding the dos and don’ts of personal branding and direction on how to increase your digital footprint and searchability.

Optimise your LinkedIn profile​

Being visible on social media and online recruitment portals is important. The Unit has a dedicated expert who will provide you with valuable information and tips. Students will learn how to create, expand and build a strong LinkedIn profile to connect and entice recruiters locally and abroad.
