Psychology CPD Well

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR

CPD PROGRAMME FOR 2019!

Important Notice

The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) approved the implementation of a new CPD programme as from 1 January 2007. In terms of the programme, all healthcare practitioners are required to earn 30 continuing education units (CEUs) per year, and a total of at least 60 CEUs in every two-year period.

(The document dated December 2011 containing the CPD guidelines for health professions can be accessed on the HPCSA website at www.hpcsa.co.za.)

Psychology CPD WELL was approved as an official service provider for a maximum of 42 CEUs in 2018, and has successfully applied for the same accreditation for 2019. We are again an official service provider for a maximum of 42 CEUs in 2019!

The Professional Board for Psychology revised its HPCSA guidelines in September 2006, and specified, among other things, that the required 30 CEUs per year should include 6 ethics units. Therefore, these 6 units form part of our comprehensive programme for 2019.

(The revised guidelines for psychology can also be accessed on the HPCSA website; click on “Psychology" under the “CPD" link.)

Practitioners are responsible for updating their own portfolios until their names are drawn for a compliance audit. Psychology CPD Well is a registered short course at Stellenbosch University and a hard copy of the certificate, after successful completion, will be posted to participants annually.

Prospective participants may choose from the following four options:

Option A (Level 1: Small-group discussions, hall based lectures, 12 CEU’s including 3 ethic units)

Option B (Level 2: Professional interest group, study PowerPoint presentations and videos of Option A, 12 CEU’s including 3 ethic units)

Option C (Level 2: Professional interest group, 30 CEU’s including 6 ethic units)

Option D (Level 2: Professional interest group, 18 CEU’s including 3 ethic units)

Please note: Participants may enroll for any of the individual options as well as a combination of some options as indicated in the registration table below.

Please note that only a combination of options as well as Option C will enable you to qualify for the required yearly units (minimum 30 points including 6 ethic points). Individual choices A, B or D on its own will NOT comply for the yearly required points.

Option D makes it possible to qualify for an additional 18 points including 3 ethic points. This option is directed at psychologists, counsellors and psychometrists who need additional points to comply with the HPCSA regulations.
