The Registrar Research Support Office offers a monthly evening webinar (Tuesdays, 19:00-20:00) on essential concepts in clinical research.

Clinical Research Protocol Writing (CRPW) short course

TARGET AUDIENCE:  Registrars, medical officers and other novice researchers who are ready to begin or are in the process of drafting a quantitative or qualitative clinical research protocol. 

CONTENT:  The four-month blended short course, facilitated online, covers the basics of clinical research, and participants can choose to focus on quantitative or qualitative research methods. We also guide you on how to write a protocol. We will not cover laboratory research or systematic reviews. 

INPUT REQUIRED: Approximately 12-15 hours for online content, 5 x 1.5 hours for contact sessions, and extra time for protocol writing. 

CERTIFICATION & CPD: Certificates of competence and 33 CPD credits (30 general + 3 ethics) upon completion.  

COST: R500 for currently employed or registered Stellenbosch University staff and students, R5000 for external participants. Payment is due upon acceptance to the short course.

Clinical Research Manuscript Writing Course  

This 6-week webinar series will equip clinical researchers with the knowledge and skills to write a publication-ready, quantitative research manuscript.

Target audience: MMed candidates and other novice clinical researchers at Stellenbosch University

Cost: Free for Stellenbosch University staff and students.
