​​​​CEMIS regularly holds conferences and seminars, either on its or  in collaboration with other academic institutions. It co-hosts an annual international conference with its partner -- Africa Research Institute from Óbuda ​University, Hungary. The theme of the conference is 'Counter-Terrorism, Technology and Development in Africa', popularly known as the 'CTD Conference'. The first CTD Conference was held in 2021.
