Mr Heindri Adre Bailey The world is at an inflexion point, from looming climate calamities to geopolitical insecurity, the faltering international order, and economic stagnation and increased disparities. Universities are key to finding solutions to these existential challenges; especially in SA where only 5 % of citizens have a university qualification. As a Stellenbosch graduate, former academic and established global advisor, I will promote policies that are agile, innovative, and responsive to these challenges by leveraging the diversity of voices of our alumni to pro-actively create an inclusive and welcoming environment that attracts the best and brightest from communities across SA, and beyond.

Mr Waldimar Pelser
Stellenbosch University does not belong to any pressure group. It is a national asset which should serve as a vehicle for the realisation of the human potential of students throughout our country, by developing much needed skills. This includes critical thought. But besides this general obligation towards the nation, the University also bears a specific historical responsibility towards the communities of the Western Cape. I believe it is necessary and possible, through closer partnership with other members of the university community, to successfully advance both these missions - the general and the specific.

Mr Crispin Sonn
I accept this nomination with humility, as an opportunity to serve the Stellenbosch University community.
SU faces a challenging moment in its history. As we work to support our University’s continued striving for excellence in all its endeavours, the institution is navigating diverse demands from its communities, while also being called upon to be a leader in the transition SA and the world is experiencing socially, politically, and economically.
I stand ready to commit my skills and experience to helping our alma mater navigate these demanding times, so it emerges a stronger, globally leading beacon of excellence.
