The Academic Affairs Council, also known as the AAC, is a Student Representative Council ('SRC') substituent. The Council consists of the chairperson and vice chairperson of all ten faculties' student councils as well a five-person executive committee.
Ultimately, the AAC works towards academic success as a supportive body, through the collaborative work of all its members as well as other groups. Queries are handled in accordance with a model that encourages a collective effort in which students are supported in and around the academic environment. From the class representatives, to the AAC, SRC and finally to Management, students are encouraged to seek support in order to guarantee their own well-being and success.
Lastly, the AAC has committed itself to serving the students at Stellenbosch University and should therefore be held accountable in that regard. The structure of the Council allows for a system of checks and balances to ensure the effective, sustainable, and consistent effort towards academic success for all.
