Dear principal and Life Orientation teacher
As you know, Stellenbosch University’s Division of Student Recruitment, through its Careers@Maties project, assists selected academically deserving grade 11 learners with an opportunity to set themselves up for future success. Registered counselling psychologist Hambly Matthews offers the learners a career-guidance psychometric assessment, helping them choose the career path best suited to them.
However, career planning starts much earlier than grade 11. Therefore, as grade 9s consider their future career paths and their subject choices for grades 10 to 12, it is crucial to provide them with the necessary information to make sensible decisions. To this end, we will be hosting an information session for the top ten grade 9 learners from your school as an extended Careers@Maties offering.
