Prof Samuel Tshehla (Acting Director SIGLA) delivered a Keynote Address at the event and was the recipient of a Golden Star Award for Distinguished Service in Security Education in Africa.
The Gala Evening was preceded by the 16th Africa Security Watch Conference on 6th November at the Swissotel Hotel, Al-Ghurair Centre, Dubai, with the theme “Global Security Outlook: Challenges, Impediments and Prospects for a Secured africa".
During the conference papers were presented by three South African academics:
