The Department of Food Science is renowned for its excellence in teaching and research. Food Science is a multidisciplinary field of study that applies natural sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry and Microbiology to develop processes to ensure food quality, as well as food security. Food scientists use cutting-edge technologies to develop new food products and constantly seek to improve existing techniques by which new products are effectively developed, processed, packaged, stored and transported.
