​The Mathematics Division in the Department of Mathematical Sciences invites you to the second discussion on the Psychology of Abstract Mathematics. This time we are going to focus on curiosity and understanding.

Should we care to understand? Who is the master of our own curiosity? The purpose of the discussion is to reflect on the idea of how to encourage curiosity in a subject, staying "true to the subject" for what it is, honest to the difficulties (the non-understood parts) but also​ without losing/invading the authenticity, creativity, responsibilities and the identity of our students.

The discussion is led by Dr Sophie Marques and Prof Zurab Janelidze from the Math​ematics Division and colleagues in the Department of Psychology and the Faculty of Education.
