Welcome back to each member of our Innovation and Commercialisation Team. Let's take a moment to reaffirm our core values at SU, namely compassion, equity, respect, accountability, and excellence. These values shape our approach to our daily tasks and help us navigate the challenges and seize the opportunities we encounter daily.  

Reflecting on 2023, we've learned invaluable lessons that we are taking into 2024.  One of these lessons is the value of good communication and how lack thereof creates uncertainty and misunderstandings. Let's give priority to excellent communication in 2024. We have also worked very hard over the past years to put proper processes and policies in place across our division to provide clarity and transparency and to ensure that we consistently act in the best interest of Stellenbosch University. As we embark on this new year, let's continue to respect these guardrails and implement them consistently. Let's also uphold our core values, seize growth opportunities, and work with integrity towards an even better Stellenbosch University.
