The Central Disciplinary Committee (CDC) on 01 July 2025 via Microsoft Teams, considered allegations that on 20 April 2025:

The implicated student altered their answer script in order to obtain additional marks and handed it in for remark. The misconduct is in contravention of rules 9.8, 10.1 and 10.2 of the Disciplinary Code for Students of Stellenbosch University (“the Code”).

The student entered a guilty plea. This plea was supported by the evidence provided by the student during the oral proceedings. The implicated student was found guilty of altering their answer script in order to obtain additional marks by the CDC. The student contravened the relevant sections in Disciplinary Code for Students of Stellenbosch University.

The CDC panel imposed the following sanctions:

  1. The student forfeits the mark for the test (A1S1) of the relevant module.
  2. The student receives a suspended suspension of six (6) months on condition that they are not found guilty of similar misconduct for the remainder of their studies at Stellenbosch University.
  3. The student must submit a written apology to theN lecturer within seven (7) days of receipt of these written reasons.
  4. The sanction must be published on the Faculty Notice Board with the student’s name redacted.
