Join the School for Climate Studies and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, in collaboration with the SDG/2063 Impact Hub, for an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Outreach Workshop. Participants' involvement will contribute to advancing our knowledge and actions on climate change.

The main activity of the IPCC is to provide a regular assessment of the state of knowledge on climate change. The IPCC also prepares critical Special Reports and Technical Papers on topics related to independent scientific information and advice. Additionally, it supports the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) through its work on methodologies for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. The workshop is broken into 3 sessions to help illustrate how the IPCC works:

1) Introduction to the IPCC

2) Introduction to the status of the sixth Assessment Report, and preparation for the seventh Assessment Reporting cycle, planned for 2030;

3) Introduction on how participants can become involved in the work of the IPCC as authors and expert reviewers.
