Our Maties Homecoming Centenary celebrations kick off with an evening of entertainment filled with music, alumni and wonderful surprises. Come and join in the fun and glamour on 2 March at Coetzenburg Stadium.
18:00-20:00: The SU Jazz Band under the baton of Felicia Lesch with guest artists Gloria Bosman and Tim Moloi will wow with popular big band hits from Mack the Knife to Meadowlands. They will be followed by the infectious energy of Die Soetstemme from Solms-Delta, the proudly Stellenbosch duo TWEE and the Dennegeur Marimba orchestra who are guaranteed to keep the festivities going.
20:00 – 22:00: The Centenary Orchestra, under the baton of Maestros Graham Scott and Marvin Kernelle with SU Alumni will entertain with compositions by Leonard Bernstein and Dimitri Shostakovich and accompany legends Laurika Rauch, Coenie de Villiers and Valiant Swart. The award-winning Minette du Toit-Pearce will be on stage with her students, the internationally renowned SU Choir will perform with SU alumnus Arno Carstens, and Heavenly Quartez, Brandon October and 30 you violinists from the Ronnie Samaai Music Education Project will provide musical magic.
22:00 – 23:00: J’Something and his “familia” MiCasa will close this unforgettable evening of music and celebration
