​Please note that only full-time permanent and joint Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences staff members (thus prospective hosts) may apply for these awards. The awards are currently R180 000 per year and are usually awarded for a period of one year, with possible extension to a second year depending on progress made and available funding. This award may be supplemented by the host from his/her own sources of funding. The award does not include running costs and it is the responsibility of the host to provide adequate running costs for the full period of the fellowship. Once an award is made and approved, the postdoctoral candidate can be appointed.
