|
The DNA Sequencing Unit at Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape provides standard capillary sequencing, fragment analysis and next-generation sequencing services. The unit forms part of the DIPLOMICS network of laboratories. In addition to several large pieces of equipment, the DIPLOMICS network also supports the facility via its training initiative (which sponsors training workshops) and system productivity initiative (which funds service and maintenance costs for some of the instruments). The support from the DIPLOMICS program allows the facility to continue its mission to produce excellent quality data at affordable prices with fast turn-around times for both academia and industry.
The function of the unit is to produce excellent quality data at affordable prices with fast turn-around times. The facility offers a wide range of services to both academia and industry.
Divisions
The unit consists of different divisions to maximize our efficiency:
- Capillary Sequencing and Fragment Analysis
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
