The financial situation of municipalities, performance of state owned enterprises, funding of new infrastructure projects are topical issues that put public finance in South Africa under the spotlight. How can we reform the current financial governance model in South Africa to improve the situation? What is happening elsewhere in the world from which we could learn? These were some of the questions discussed by international and local speakers at the seminar on Financial Governance Reform, the pre-conference event prior to the 15th International Winelands Conference with the theme "Governance of Transitions in a Complex World".
The eventful day was concluded with an executive dinner at Helena's Restaurant, Coopmanhuijs Hotel. The guest speaker was Minister Dr Ivan Meyer.
