Please note that only full-time permanent staff members (thus prospective hosts) may apply for these grants. In 2021 Subcommittee A will make a contribution of R230 000 per postdoctoral fellow. This amount may be topped up by the host. The Subcommittee A grant does not include running costs. It is the responsibility of the host to ensure that there is funding available from other sources to cover the running costs of the research project.
Applications will be competitive. Evaluation of applications will be based on the academic merit of the applicant (host) and of the research project the fellow will participate in. Fellowships are awarded for a period of one year.
