These postgraduate workshops, presented by the Language Centre's Writing Lab, focus on the type of writing required in postgraduate studies. Three Academic Writing workshops are on offer: Introduction to Academic Writing Skills, Academic Writing Skills for Theses and Dissertations and Writing a Literature Review.
Cost:
These specific workshop opportunities on our Postgraduate Skills Development Programme calendar, although presented by the Writing Lab, are funded by the Postgraduate Office. There is no cost involved for registered SU postgraduates who sign up and attend, however, in the case of late cancellations or non-attendance, applicants will be responsible for the full workshop fee since late cancellations and non-attendance have considerable cost implications for our office.
Target Audience:
SU Master's and doctoral students who are writing a proposal, thesis or dissertation.
Please note: The Postgraduate Office can only sponsor students to attend the workshops that we have contracted the Writing Lab to do for our programme. The dates of our sponsored workshops are listed under each workshop page below. These dates are separate to the workshops the Writing Lab have listed on their website - which students must pay to attend.
