The Faculty of Education's vision is to be acknowledged and respected unequivocally as a leading and engaged research-driven education faculty.
The Faculty strives to play a leading role in education, both locally and globally, and to engage with educational challenges, particularly in the South African context. The Faculty is characterised by its significant research profile, its focus on education beyond the school environment and its inter-disciplinary approach to education.

The Faculty is made up of three departments, namely:
This inter-disciplinary lens allows us to approach questions of education from multiple perspectives, thus enriching the ability of our students to consider different perspectives and solutions to challenges.
A number of well-respected units are also housed in the Faculty, namely:
The Centre for Higher and Adult Education (CHAE) which offers postgraduate and professional programmes in adult and further learning; and
The Stellenbosch University Centre for Pedagogy (SUNCEP)
The Centre focuses on Teacher Professional Learning (TPL), Learning Enhancement (LE), and University Preparation Programmes (UPP).
Many local and international academics and students visit the Faculty, and, if you are not already one of them, we
