The Division for Social Impact invites all new and existing academic and
professional administrative support service staff to a Social Impact
orientation session.
Stellenbosch
University commits to sharing its knowledge and expertise to address provincial,
national and international
development goals in order to contribute meaningfully towards positive,
systemic social impact.
The purpose of the event is to introduce participants to Social Impact
as a strategic priority of SU as explained in the Social
Impact Strategic Plan 2017-2022; to provide
an orientation to the concepts and practices of engaged scholarship and engaged
citizenship; and highlight the support offered by the Division for Social
Impact.
By the end of the orientation session participants will have a clear
understanding of the university’s vision in terms of enhancing societal impact
and how the Division for Social Impact plays an enabling role in supporting
staff and students in fulfilling this vision.
Participants will also have an opportunity to meet other colleagues
involved in social Impact initiatives which will provide an opportunity for
collective learning and collaboration.
