Stellenbosch University's Facilities Management Division encourages all staff and students to bring their electronic waste or e-waste to campus on Monday, 14 October 2024, where they will be hosting an e-waste drive on the Rooiplein from 12h00 till 14h00.
Look out for the yellow bins on the Rooiplein on Monday and at some more venues (see below) on campus, and bring all your unwanted and used electrical and electronic equipment and its parts that you have disregarded without intending to reuse again. You can also bring your old batteries, broken charging cables, and any appliance or device that does not have an SU asset number—even those from home.
You will find more e-waste yellow bins here:
• The ITC building, Hammandshand Rd, at the delivery entrance
• The IT hub at the side entrance of the Admin A building.
• Facilities Management's offices between Dagbreek and Huis Visser (next to the tennis courts)
• Sport Sciences building at the wheelchair-friendly entrance at the back of the building
• General Engineering study center
Please ensure you wipe all your data from your device's hard drive before you recycle your electronic devices.
Let's be responsible consumers and do our part to send zero waste to landfill by 2026 to create a healthier environment.
