AccessEd mobalises social entrepreneurs and educational leaders to deploy a successful university access programme model - the scholars programme - in countries where educational disparity is at its worst. Since its inception, AccessEd has incubated 9 programmes across the world, including the AccessEd ZA Programme in South Africa.

The AccessEd ZA Programme has been impacting the educational journey of pupils from underserved communities in the Western Cape and Gauteng since 2017.

In 2022, the programme reached 316 young people nationwide. More than 85 pupils from Kayamandi, Khayelitsha and Nyanga were tutored and mentored by PhD Researchers from Stellenbosch University.

The 12-week programme concluded with a prestigious on-campus graduation event at Stellenbosch University on 14 November 2022. Ernestine Meyer-Adams - Director: Social Impact - addressed pupils from IkamvaYouth and Legacy Community Development as part of the certificate ceremony which took place in the historical Lückhoff Building. The ceremony was followed by a tutor-led campus tour.
