The management of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at Stellenbosch University learnt with shock and sadness of the passing of Ms Yvette Diedericks of the School of Accountancy on 4 June 2020. She suffered from asthma.

“Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends and colleagues. They are in our thoughts and prayers," said Prof Ingrid Woolard, Dean of the Faculty.

Yvette joined Stellenbosch University in April 2014. Three years later she was appointed as an Administrative Officer at the Library and Information Services, and in February 2018 she was appointed as secretary at the School of Accountancy.

Yvette was an upbeat, positive person who touched the lives of many people. She was always willing to assist, even if a task was not her responsibility, and treated everybody with dignity and respect.

Dancing was one of her passions. Yvette, whose beautiful smile could light up a room, lived in Paarl and is survived by her mother and young son, Yale.

Yvette's lively personality and her laughter will be truly missed.
