Subsea cable networks are hidden, but critical infrastructure and serve as fundamental  links to connect continents, countries and communities. Africa hosts an ever-growing set of subsea data cable networks off its coast that serve the digital growth of African societies. Connectivity also drives port operations and raises cybersecurity threats and a host of legal matters. These matters with a focus on Africa are addressed on 27 September 2023 13:30-14:30 SA-time at a hybrid guest lecture at the Saldanha Campus by Prof van Niekerk (DUT) and Dr Ramluckan (UKZN).
