Education and Training for Tax Specialists
The programme for the qualifications
MAcc (Taxation) or
MCom (Taxation) runs over two years on the Stellenbosch Campus and entails group discussions and research. Students must prepare for these group discussions, which are held on certain Saturdays over a period of one year. The research culminates in the writing of a research assignment and an article suitable for publication in an accredited journal during the second year.
Admission requirements for MAcc (Taxation): 60% average in BAccHons, the PGDA or an equivalent qualification.
Admission requirements for MCom (Taxation): 60% average in BCom (Law) and LLB or an equivalent qualification.
A maximum of 10 students are selected every two years, and apart from the 60% requirement, a tax related question answered in writing is also taken into account in the final selection.
