According to Stellenbosch University's plagiarism policy, Master's and doctoral students must submit their thesis or dissertation to Turnitin (or a similar similarity detector) before submitting it for examination. We recommend that postgraduates use a Turnitin sandbox or playground. This is a safe space to submit your research paper or thesis drafts - your work is compared to the extensive Turnitin database without going into the Turnitin repository. A sanbox thus allows you to submit your refined draft multiple times to improve your academic writing. For access to our Turnitin sandbox log in to SUNLearn (learn.sun.ac.za) and then click on this link. It should take you straight to our module (self-enrol if you
haven’t accessed our Postgraduate Skills Development Turnitin Sandbox module before). For detailed information on using and understanding Turnitin, see the resources below, and find other resources on the EPE website here. Self-enrol for our self-paced avoiding plagiarism course on SUNLearn here.
