NOMINATIONS FOR SU STAFF MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE INSTITUTIONAL FORUM
The Institutional Forum (IF) is a statutory body, in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Education Act (Act 101 of 1997), which advises SU Council on policy matters, including the implementation of the Act and the National Policy on Higher Education. The IF meets four times per year considering advice to the Council.
The Institutional Forum comprises of thirty-two members, eight members from each of the following sectors: Governance and Management (representatives from Council, Senate and Management); Staff (representatives from the permanent academic non-professorial staff, permanent administrative and academic support staff and permanent technical support staff); Students (representatives from the SRC, Student Union, Prim Committee, Student Societies and Academic Affairs Council) and the Community (representatives from the Convocation and representative bodies in civic society).
SU staff members are herewith requested to nominate representatives of the staff sector for the term January 2019 to December 2021 in the following categories:
a) three members from the permanent non-professorial academic staff;
b) three members from the permanent administrative and academic support staff; and
c) two members from the permanent technical support staff.
Signed, written nominations, seconded by another staff member in the appropriate staff category, accepted by the nominee, including a vision statement of no more than 50 words, must reach the IF by 12:00 on Tuesday 21 August 2018. The nomination form can be accessed here.
